Sponsorship Opportunities

Since the tournaments inception in 1988, the Classic has raised $1.268 million.  Currently the Classic supports the Vancouver Island Lodge (VIL) which is operated by the Canadian Cancer Society and houses Island residents coping with cancer.  This year we are directing our funding to a new steamer in the kitchen, bedside lights, house keeping carts and deck repairs.  The last year we held the Classic, we purchased new furniture for the lounge and dining room.
Due to Covid19, the Classic has taken a 3 year hiatus.  In order for its survival, it needed to restructure. We are happy to announce that Gorge Vale Golf Club has stepped up and taken over this historic event.  It has therefore been turned into a one course tournament.  The Organizing Committee looks forward to your participation and is confident that you will enjoy the day.

Imagine living in a community up-Island, like Nanaimo, Port Alberni or Campbell River and being told you must come to Victoria for several weeks for cancer treatment without knowing anyone or how you will navigate this potentially traumatic experience. What if you had a safe and comfortable place to stay with 24 hour support, a warm bed and all your meals; a place with multiple services and amentities; a space where you feel supported, informed and empowered? That is the Canadian Cancer Society’s Vancouver Island Lodge – a supportive home away from home for people facing cancer. We serve over 2000 guests each year and since opening in 1982 have accommodated roughly 36,000 guests. With the generous support of the Gorge Vale Golf Club Conquer Cancer Classic, we have been able to continue making a significant difference for the quality of life for our up- Island guests. Last year, as a direct result of the tournament, we were able to purchase new dining room furniture, new toilets and new comforters. These items have a great impact for people struggling with cancer, ensuring their stay with us is restful and meets all of their unique needs. This year, the Lodge looks forward to using the proceeds to purchase much needed air conditioning for the building. With your support, you are helping us create a community of support and hope for people on their journey dealing with cancer.
